The Uruguayan striker has just made it! By scoring for the 1-0 against Montpellier yesterday afternoon for the sake of the 23rd day of French Ligue 1, Edinson Cavani wrote history and became the best scorer (alone) of French football team Paris Saint-Germain with 157 goals, before Swedish Zlatan Ibrahimovic and his 156 achievements.

PSG did not really suffer to beat the Montpellier of Ivorian Giovanni Sio since the teammates of El Matador won 4-0 with, except Cavani, two goals from Neymar and one from Di Maria.

Kylian Mbappé was missing after his huge shock with Anthony Lopes last week in Lyon and Lassana Diarra has just been recruited to strengthen the Parisian midfield. As a consequence, both international French players could witness the demonstration from stands, overcrowded stands that took advantage from the victory to congratulate Edi and his record.

Montpellier, the second-best defense of Ligue 1 with 19 goals taken, could not resist much in Parc des Princes, a dirty habit for every team against PSG this season. Sio, Hilton, Congré or Lasne drowned under the assaults of Parisians stars, obsessed by different records to break and motivated at the highest degree for the next deadlines, especially Real Madrid in 8th finals of Champions’ League within two weeks.

Of course, Paris still ranks the league with this victory, before Lyon, Marseille and Monaco. But Paris is not really in love with L1. Eyes are looking at Europe, and Europe is coming soon.
